Certainly there is nothing as pure as knowledge in this
universe.
Immensely inspired by the ancient Hindu philosophy and drawing
strength from the legendary physician Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy,
visionary and architect of modern Bengal , few philanthropic
entrepreneurs of Durgapur embarked on a journey to make their
dream a reality by creating an institution par excellence in
the name of ‘Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College’ which today is
popularly known as BCREC.
The beginning was in the backdrop of the demand for
technically and professionally qualified candidates
post-liberalization period on August 21, 2000 and the
Government’s initiative in permitting establishment of private
engineering colleges through suitable legislation.

The team at the helm of affairs here firmly believes that
‘Quality’ is the one and only magic word that is essential for our
survival and growth in this ever widening competitive scenario. At
the same time, we also believe that ‘quest for quality’ is a never
ending process. The more one attains quality parameters, the more
widens the demand for the same. The institute is NBA Accredited
for two programmes and aspiring for all the programmes under its
banner.
BCREC is surrounded by the beauty and freshness of nature. Its
campuses are sprawling, safe, beautiful, and it blends modern
urban ambience with the serenity and greenery of the countryside –
an ideal place for life changing experience. The college provides
all the supports, assistance and facilities that our students need
to make their life comfortable and pleasant.

BCREC culture has a uniquely cosmopolitan flavor as faculty and
student strengths are drawn from across the country. A fine
blend of diverse ideas, traditions, customs and thought
processes is experienced here. This cultural diversity mixed
with professional acumen and rich knowledge repertoire converges
into a confluence that gives rise to a great creative force
which shapes our students for the multicultural corporate world
and thus makes BCREC an everlasting pleasurable learning
experience.
Whatever shortcomings we
may have today, we are at work in unison to ensure a tremendous
value addition among our students during their four years’ of
stay with us. At the same time, we are also confident to ensure
that the alumni of our college always feel proud of their
institution of choice in the days ahead of us.
