Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College Honours Two heros of Our Country through "Echos of Adventure"

Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College honoured Ms. Sayani Das, an International Open Water Swimmer and Mr. Uday Kumar, One Legged Mountaineer as a part of its year long Silver Jubilee Celebration. The name of the programme was "Echos of Adventure " Sayani and Uday were felicitated on 26th March, 2025 at the BCREC campus. Both were felicitated with uttario and flower bouquets by Mr. Tarun Bhattacharya and Mr. Jernail Singh, General Secretary and Treasurer of Dr. B. C. Roy Society, respectively. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Sanjay S. Pawar, Principal, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College. Mr. Tarun Bhattacharya, General Secretary of Dr. B. C. Roy Society congratulated both the heros for their accomplishments and wished them success in their future endeavors. Certificates of Appreciation were handed over to both the heros by Dr. Sanjay S. Pawar, Principal, BCREC. Mr Tarun Bhattacharya in his speech appealed to the media to uphold the hardships and success of these unsung heros to the society to draw attention to their achievements and stand by them. He declared that Sayani's upcoming Gibraltar crossing endeavor will be partly sponsored by Dr. B. C. Roy Society. Ms. Sayani Das in her speech recalled how dangerous it was to swim the oceanic straits. She said there were two options that was to return or to complete the swim. Returning was defeat and completing meant creating history. She opted the second and created history.

Mr. Uday Kumar also said that despite his creating history of climbing arduous mountains with one leg he lives in misery. There is no government support for these heros for there lively hood.

The programme ended with the National Anthem of India.
