Dr. B. C. Roy Society introduced Dr. B. C. Roy Kriti Samman felicitating four National teachers and outstanding achievers of 10th and 12th standard students of various boards

Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur, organized a grand felicitation ceremony titled “Dr. B.C. Roy Kriti Samman, 2025”at Dulal Mitra Auditorium in the college campus on 22nd May, 2025,  as a part of its Silver Jubilee celebrations. The event felicitated four esteemed Teachers who received the prestigious Rashtrapati Award for their lifelong contributions to the field of education. The college also recognized outstanding academic performers from the 10th and 12th standards of CBSE, CISCE, WBBSE, and WBCHSE boards within the Durgapur subdivision.

The four distinguished Teachers felicitated with Dr. B. C. Roy Kriti Samman were Dr. Sushil Bhattacharya, Retired Headmaster, Bhiringi T. N. Institution, Durgapur who is a renowned author also, Papia Mukherjee, Principal cum Regional Officer, DAV Model School, Durgapur, Dr. Kalimul Haque, Headmaster, Nepalipara Hindi High School, Durgapur and Ramesh Rakshit, Instructor, Durgapur Government ITI.

In this program welcome speech was delivered by the Principal of BCREC Dr. Sanjay S. Pawar.

These dignitaries were felicitated by Mr. Tarun Bhattacharya, General Secretary of Dr. B. C. Roy Society, Prof. Saikat Maitra, Chief Advisor of the Society and other society members like Mr. Avisekh Mukherjee, Mrs. Mita Mitra, Mrs. Ankita Mitra & Mrs. Sadhana Sikdar. 

In addition to honouring the teachers, the college also complimented six meritorious students of Durgapur with Dr. B.C. Roy Kriti Samman for their exceptional academic achievements. Jagriti Adhikary (Class 10, RE College Model School), Sriparna Mondal (Class 12, Pansuli High School, Pansuli), Ankita Rajak (Class 12, DAV Model School), Rupkatha Laik (Class 12, Hem Sheela Model School ), Sayantan Roy (Class 10, St. Xavier’s School), Bitanu Biswas (Class 12, St. Michael’s School).

Mr Tarun Bhattacharya said in his speech that the society was introducing Dr. B. C. Roy Kriti Samman from this year and continue in the subsequent years to honour the achievers in several fields.

All the teachers expressed heartfelt gratitude to the college for organizing the program and for honouring the four National teachers on stage. Dr. Bhattacharya congratulated the students and encouraged the teachers to always maintain their professional and passionate attitude toward teaching.

Papia Mukherjee reminded the students that marks do not define education. True education lies in how we treat others, how we continue to educate ourselves and how we contribute to society.

Dr. Haque advised the students not to fear challenges. He emphasized the importance of self-belief and honesty in whatever they choose to do.

Ramesh Rakshit also congratulated the students and wished them success in the days to come.

Principals and faculty members of all four colleges of the Society were present in the programme. 

At the beginning of the felicitation program, Mr. Subham Chakraborty and his team entertained the audience with a melodious Rabindra Sangeet performance.

The programme ended with the national anthem.
