Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College Celebrated National Youth Day and 163rd Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda with the installation of a statue of Swamiji in its campus.

Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College (BCREC), Durgapur, commemorated National Youth Day establishing a statue of Swami Vivekananda. The Statue was inaugurated by Swami Stavapriyananda Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Ramharipur, Bankura.

The programme commenced at 10:00 a.m. with the performance of Mr. Somnath Banerjee and his team. Society Members, Principals of four colleges, faculty members, staffs and students were present in the program.

All present in the program paid floral tributes to the statue of Swamiji. Members of ‘Vivekananda Bani Prachar Samity’, Durgapur chanted Vedik Mantras and Swamiji’s Swadesh Mantra.  

Swami Stavapriyananda Maharaj was felicitated by Mr. Tarun Bhattacharya, General Secretary of Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College (Society).

Swami Stavapriyananda addressed the gathering explaining the teaching and ideals of Swami Vivekananda, emphasizing youth empowerment, character building and the role of education in nation-building. The celebration reinforced the institution’s commitment for inspiring students with values of leadership, service and self-confidence as envisioned by the great philosopher and spiritual leader.
