Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College (Society) Observed its Founder President Dulal Mitra's  8th Death Anniversary

‎Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College (Society) observed its Founder President Shri Dulal Mitra's Death Anniversary on 12th February 2026. The program was organized to pay tributes to the visionary leadership and enduring legacy of the Founder President, whose contributions continue to inspire the institution’s academic and social commitments.

‎In the morning, floral tributes were paid at both the Fuljhore and Bidhannagar campuses of the Group of Institutions by the faculty and staff members of all four colleges under Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College Society.

‎In the afternoon all members of the four colleges assembled at the Dulal Mitra Auditorium at the Fuljhore Campus where Dr. Satyajit Bose, President of the Society, Mrs. Mita Mitra, Vice President, Mr. Tarun Bhattacharya, General Secretary, Mr. Jernail Singh, Treasurer, Dr. Saikat Maitra, Chief Advisor of the society and Principals of all four colleges of the Society paid floral tributes to the portrait of Shri Dulal Mitra. Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Satyajit Bose, President, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College (Society), who highlighted Shri Dulal Mitra’s vision in establishing and nurturing institutions dedicated to excellence in education.

‎A heartfelt Remembrance Speech was delivered by Mrs. Mita Mitra, Vice President, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College (Society), reflecting on the Founder President’s values, dedication, and commitment to academic growth.

‎Shri Dulal Mitra Memorial Lecture was delivered by Mr. Tarun Bhattacharya, General Secretary, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College (Society), who emphasized the vision of Dulal Mitra and asked all faculty and staff members to dedicate themselves more for the sake of  the institutions and their  students. He also mentioned that Shri Dulal Mitra's vision was being advanced with the initiative of the Society to transform BCREC into a state university which is now in an advanced stage.

‎As part of the ceremony Dulal Mitra Best Awards were introduced from this year and 13 faculty and staff members were honored for their outstanding contributions to academics and institutional development. The Dulal Mitra Best Teacher Award 2025, Dulal Mitra Best Academic Support Award 2025, and Dulal Mitra Best Placement Assistance Award 2025 were presented by Mr. Jernail Singh, Treasurer, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College (Society); Prof. Saikat Maitra, Chief Advisor, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College (Society); and Mrs. Rita Singh, Assistant Secretary, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College (Society) and other Society members, including Mrs. Ankita Mitra, Mr. Abhisekh Mukherjee, and Ms. Joyitree Sikdar, also handed over the awards to the faculty and staff members.

‎The program concluded with a captivating musical presentation by renowned Indian classical singer Shri Shrikumar Chattopadhyay.

‎The remembrance event reaffirmed the Society’s continued commitment to carry forward the ideals and vision of Shri Dulal Mitra, ensuring excellence in education and holistic development.
