Dr. B. C. Roy Society celebrated Rabindra Jayanti on May 8, 2024, at the Rabindra Udyan Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College campus. The event, commemorating the birth anniversary of the esteemed poet and philosopher Kobiguru Rabindranath Tagore, was a grand affair that saw enthusiastic participation from the college community, including the principal, faculty members, and students.

The celebration began with a warm welcome address by Dr. Sanjay Pawar Principal of Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College and Dr. Rajib Roy, Principal of Dr. B. C. Roy Academy of Professional Courses. The two principals highlighted the significance of Rabindra Jayanti and Tagore's immense contributions to literature, music, and education. This was followed by a series of cultural performances that beautifully encapsulated the spirit of Tagore's work.

Faculty members and students presented a variety of programs, including recitations of Tagore’s poems, singing of Rabindra Sangeet (Tagore's songs), and dance performances based on his compositions. The performances were well-received, reflecting the deep admiration for Tagore's legacy within the college community.

One of the highlights of the event was a dramatic rendition of one of Tagore's plays, performed by the students. The play was meticulously directed by the faculty and showcased the students' theatrical talents, leaving the audience in awe.
