A One -day Interactive Class on Open Source Intelligence

Now-a-days the cyber crimes have increased so much that people are suffering very much. This nuisance has been a headache for most of the people of society. Therefore, the awareness of Cyber-crimes and the detection are gravely recommended.

A Special Interactive Class on Open Source Intelligence was organised on 18th December, 2024 at Albert Einstein Hall of Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur. The session was specially dedicated to the Police personnel who deal with Law and Order. The Resource person of the session was Prof. Dr. Sanjay S. Pawar, Hon'ble Principal of Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur. Prof. Dr. K. M. Hossain, Hon'ble Vice - Principal, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kanksa; Assistant Commissioner of Police, Andal; Circle Inspector A, Durgapur; Circle Inspector B, Durgapur; Circle Inspector, Budbud; Inspector in-charge, Kanksa Police Station; Officer-in-Charge, Durgapur Township Police Station Lady Sub-Inspector Ms. Nasrin Sultana; all OCs and ICs of East Zone, Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate, Heads of the Departments of Cyber Security and Data Science, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur along with other Faculty members of the departments were also present in the programme. The issues like digital Browsing, Online Tracking, Underground Internet, Virtualisation, Social Media Intelligence, People Search Engine and Public Records, Online Maps, Technical Footprint were meticulously discussed and explained.

Everyone enjoyed the session and spontaneously took part in intermittent interactions. The authority has promised to organise more such sessions in future to increase mass awareness and to help police professionals.
