Dr. Arindam Ghosh is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur, India. He holds a B.E. from the University of Burdwan, an M.Tech. from Jadavpur University, and a Ph.D. from NIT Durgapur. With over 17 years of academic experience, his areas of interest include Cyber-Physical Systems, the Internet of Things (IoT), Participatory Sensing, and Machine Learning. Dr. Ghosh has published extensively in reputed journals and conferences and is actively engaged in academic leadership, research coordination, and curriculum development.

Area of Interest

CityProbe: A city-scale pervasive sensing system for monitoring road conditions, air and sound pollution. Funding Agency: IMPRINT - 1, MHRD, Govt. of India. Co–investigator: Prof. Subrata Nandi, Prof. Mousumi Saha, Prof. Sujoy Saha Aug 2017 to Aug 2020 • Designs integrated framework, that uses static medium range devices and develops novel models for real time monitoring, estimation, forecasting of citywide air–quality considering sparse data sample and feasible input features. • Develops a low cost system that uses custom design monitoring devices for indoor air quality involving mass occupancy like classroom using suitable ML models.

Other distinctions

• College SPOC for “Smart India Hackathon” in 2019 and 2020 organized by MHRD and AICTE. Mentored teams for submission in the software and hardware edition of the same. One of the teams was reached level-2 in the hardware edition. • In 2017, established “Think-IoT laboratory” with active support from the “Mobile Computing and Network Research Group” at NIT-Durgapur, to train students in recent technologies and research areas. • In 2017, established the Institutional and student chapter of Computer Society of India (CSI) in BCREC and act as a founding coordinator of the chapter between 2017-19. • Organized all India seminar on “Think-IoT 2017.V1-Booting IOT: An Introduction to IoT platform” in association with Institute of Engineers, held at BCREC, Durgapur as a joint convener on 28th and 29th April 2017. • Organized seminar on “Computer Intelligence Application” as joint secretary held at Seacom Engineering College on 18th February 2011. • Assistant Center in-charge for conducting WBUT university semester examination from June 2009 and December 2010 at Seacom Engineering College. • Organized seminar on “Recent advancement in intelligent computing” as convener held at Seacom Engineering College on 8th November 2009.
