We are thrilled to share insights from an enlightening session (on 4 December 2024) with Mr. Sanjib Dutta, a visionary in the Civil Engineering Industry, currently holding the position of Head-Supply Chain Management - RBF SBG , Transportation Infrastructure IC , Larsen & Toubro Limited. This interactive event brought together students, faculty members, and technical assistants to bridge the gap between academic innovation and industrial application.

1. Discussion on emerging technologies related to the uses of geotextile materials in the civil engineering industry.
2. Practical insights into aligning academic research with industry needs- need to develop relationships with the local industries to understand their specific requirements.
3. Build India Scholarship scheme for graduating students in engineering disciplines to join L & T as graduate engineer trainees (GET).
4. Need of Pep Talk from Industry person from 2nd year onwards to get the students motivated for staying in core industry.
5. In case of Geo Materials - also include the need for Use of Material for sustainability.
6. Focus on more critical consultancy work rather than only consulting in quality/ testing area for Civil Engineering.
7. Connect with the IRC Committee, RDSO. IIT Bombay can be contacted to find out the process for building up more structured academia Industry relationship.
8. Need for understanding BIM and software for project management through software e.h MS Project , Primavera in the query to student. He gave emphasize on building up soft skills & communication skills, presentation skills and handling of various data through MS excel for students.
This session reaffirmed the importance of collaboration in driving impactful solutions to real-world challenges.
